Legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons‘ first memoir, ‘Big Man: Real Life & Tall Tales,’ is in stores this week. Published by Grand Central Publishing, the hardcover tome (written with best friend and television producer Don Reo) is the very first book penned by a member of Bruce Springsteen’s iconic E Street Band. “The Boss,” himself, even wrote the foreword for the book, which “isn’t the same old story” and “one that tells true, unknown stories … in a series of hybrid fact-and-fiction stories called “legends.” Clemons, 67, is a Norfolk, Virginia native who’s been a prominent member of the hit-making outfit since 1972. “The book was being written all my life,” he told Metro newspaper. “We just decided to put it down on paper. … It’s pretty great because it’s something I’ve never done before.’

  • Kandi Burruss: Rising Above Tragedy, Moving Forward with Music

‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Kandi Burruss is not derailing plans to release new music despite the traumatic loss of her ex-fiancé Ashley ‘A.J.’ Jewell.

Currently, Burruss is featured on a popular Atlanta radio hit ‘Try It Out’ by Big Bank Black. The Grammy Award-winning songwriter also revamped cast-mate Kim Zolciak’s ‘Tardy For the Party,’ which made it to the Top 10 of iTunes Dance music chart.

And though she was obviously shocked by the recent murder of Jewell, she’s putting out the new tunes she’s been crafting this year on an EP. Since all of the songs on the collection were made before he died, there are no songs dedicated in his memory.

The former Xscape front-woman had a deal with Capitol Records on the table, but things didn’t pan out and now she’s still shopping her full-length album, titled ‘B.L.O.G.,’ to major record labels. According to Burruss’ spokeswoman Tresa Sanders, the reality television star plans to release songs digitally as “part of the set up to head up the streets before the full release [of the album].”

The Drumma Boy-produced song ‘Fly Above,’ which was heard on the latest season of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ is the lead single from ‘Kandi Koated Entertainment Presents The Fly Above EP.’ A digital release is set for Oct. 29.

Other tracks include ‘Trade Him In’ featuring Gucci Mane, ‘I Like Him’ featuring Rick Ross and Rashida and a love song titled ‘I Just Know. ‘Housewives’ cameras also caught the ‘Just Kickin’ It’ singer creating the Jazze Pha-produced ‘Must Be Good,’ which also made the cut.

In addition to working on a full-scaled promotional tour to perform some of her new songs, Burruss plans to open a new boutique in her hometown of Atlanta called TAGS.

  • Content on Demand: ‘RIP Kanye West’ Hoax

    RIP Kanye Westkanye west

Despite Kanye West’s declining media value since his much-publicized ‘MTV Video Music Awards’ tirade, rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated. The multiple Grammy Award-winning producer-rapper became a victim of celebrity death rumors last night, which led the fictitious reports to become one of the most searched topics on on the Internet.

According to People, the story originated from a fraudulent Web site that resembled a FOX News story reporting that the ‘Love Lockdown’ MC had died in a “bizarre car crash in Los Angeles involving two luxury cars early this morning.”

The bogus post stated: “Rapper Kanye West dead, a second injured, a third arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter and a fourth person was detained by police. A Los Angeles Police Department officer witnessed the wreck and saw a red Ferrari and a white Porsche ’spinning out of control’ on Jamboree Road between Bison Avenue and East Bluff Drive.”

Although West has not commented on the morbid news, his girlfriend, Amber Rose, took to her Twitter account earlier today expressing disgust over the hoax.

“This ‘RIP Kanye West’ topic is not funny and it’s NOT TRUE,” she Tweeted. “He has people like myself and his family that love him very much. … It’s in extreme poor taste to have that as a trendy topic. It’s totally disrespectful to make up a story like this. We’re all human … and we all make mistakes and to say someone died cuz of a mistake is ridiculous. You wouldn’t want someone to say that about you.”

A spokesperson for Kanye West could not be reached for comment at press time.
